Saturday, 22 June 2024 from 6.00 pm
Music, good food, exuberant atmosphere, impressive mountain fires - this is how Innsbruck celebrates the summer solstice. Worth a visit every year!
Saturday, 22 June 2024 in St. Johann in Tirol
You can enjoy a wonderful view from the Harschbichl mountain station. Many hundreds of mountain fires on the Wilder Kaiser, the Loferer and Leoganger Steinberge and the Kitzbüheler Horn can be experienced live here.
Saturday, 22 June 2024 in Ellmau
The solstice fire is lit shortly before nightfall on the Hartkaiser. Unforgettably beautiful.

Tyrolean mountain fires were the inspiration for the Tyrolean Mountain Fire Liqueur. The composition of local and exotic red fruits has long since become a classic spirit. Now you can experience for yourself the fun of a mountain fire with a genuine Tyrolean fire ritual at home.
]]>In this article, we introduce you to Jake from Liquorland, who sells our GletscherEis Liqueur in his shop in New Zealand. He answered some interesting questions and told us about his business on the other side of the world
Firstly, thank you for taking the time to answer our questions. We are thrilled that our GletscherEis is now also available in New Zealand. Do you offer spirits from all over the world?
We have a large selection of spirits and liqueurs from all continents. We also sell wine, beer and RTDs, i.e. ready-to-drink drinks in bottles or cans, from all over the world.
Here at Riccarton Liquorland, while we stock all the usual local products, we really enjoy discovering beer, wine and spirits from around the world. Often, this research starts with an enquiry from one of our customers and leads us to discover completely new products we have never heard of before.
We currently have specialities from Korea, Japan, India, the Philippines, Chile, Brazil, Colombia, Lithuania, Austria and many other countries not normally found in New Zealand liquor shops. Our interest in global products is also driven by our international staff, including a Scotsman, an Englishman, an American, a Sikh and two Kiwis.
How did you hear about our Tyrolean GletscherEis fire liqueur?
Your Baumann liqueurs are distributed in New Zealand by Hi IQ Liquor. Our representative from Hi IQ, Dylan, came to us, showed us your product range, let us taste all the liqueurs and told us a lot about them. The Baumann liqueurs fit very well into our range and our regular customers love them.

Do you know the Tyrolean fire ritual where we set GletscherEis on fire in fireproof shot glasses and celebrate?
So far, GletscherEis has aroused great interest among the locals, young and old alike. Everyone is delighted with the matches that come with the products and the opportunity to sample the liqueurs. After doing a little research, we learnt about the Tyrolean summer solstice mountain fire festival and the GletscherEis fire ritual, but we haven't yet tried it ourselves.
When I come to visit from Tyrol, I will definitely stop by at your shop. What else should I see in your neighbourhood?
If you visit us, you should definitely show us the Tyrolean fire ritual. There are several great places to visit in the area. For example the Bridge of Remembrance, a memorial to the ANZAC (Australia New Zealand Army Corps) troops who fought in the First and Second World Wars, is impressive. It is located next to the Riverside Market, a lovely row of boutique restaurants and shops.
You can also visit the CBD and see our cathedral and the many works of art in the city centre. I also recommend a visit to the Sign of the Kiwi, a café at the top of the Port Hills, from where you have a beautiful view of the city and its surroundings. And finally, a trip to Christchurch wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the Botanic Gardens.
That sounds wonderful, Jake! Thank you so much for your time! Whenever any of our friends and clients from Europe plan a trip to New Zealand, we will send them your way. All the best to you and your team!
]]>The idea of making a lamp out of a bottle is appealing in itself. It's particularly great that our glacier ice bottle is used, whose bright blue design harmonises perfectly with the lampshade - simply gorgeous. Take a look at the result, read the instructions carefully and consider whether you would like to try your hand at this project. A little manual dexterity and some experience are an advantage, but most DIY enthusiasts already know that.
Clean your GlacierIce bottle carefully and remove any residue. Keep the label on the bottle or attach a piece of adhesive tape where you want to drill the hole. This will help prevent the drill from slipping.
Carefully drill a hole with a diameter of 8 mm close to the bottom of the bottle. Cool the glass constantly with water during the drilling process to prevent overheating and possible breakage. Wear safety goggles to protect your eyes from glass splinters.
Insert the grommet into the drilled hole to protect the cable and seal the opening.
Pull the cable through the cork and further through the grommet into the inside of the bottle. Connect the cable to the lamp socket. This work is best carried out by a qualified electrician to ensure electrical safety. If you are unsure, seek help from a specialist.
Screw the light bulb into the socket and fill the bottle with coloured decorative material such as decorative stones. Then put on the lampshade. Your home-made table lamp is now ready. Place it in a suitable place and switch it on. Enjoy the cosy light and the unique ambience that your new lamp creates!

Let your creativity run wild - if you prefer a green lamp, you can use a witches' fire liqueur bottle instead and choose a matching green lampshade.
Have fun crafting!
A big thank you goes to the L. family, who came up with and realised this fantastic idea.

]]>Then we always talk about what is important to make the whole thing what it should be: fun and something special to celebrate with friends.
"Do you have any advertising material or photos?" is usually the next question. Hmm...no, unfortunately we don't. We are a relatively small Tyrolean distillery, a family business. We produce our fire liqueurs exclusively in Tyrol and sell them in our own online shop and in Tyrolean grocery stores. We don't really have a budget for glossy brochures. Nevertheless, we met up with a photographer last week and did a little fire liqueur shoot.
Since we have a little news to present, we visited a fantastic Tyrolean photographera few days ago. A picture is worth a thousand words. Come with us and take a look behind the scenes of a relaxed photo shoot with burning glasses and colourful bottles of fire liqueur.

The Tyrolean fire ritual is an absolute highlight for any celebration with friends. Whether you've already tried it out during your holiday in Tyrol or it's your first time - you'll definitely make an impression with a Tyrolean fire ritual.
Fill the glasses to the brim with the liqueur and light the liqueur on fire. The strength of the fire liqueur changes depending on how long you leave the flame burning:
Now carefully blow out the fire. Stir the liqueur with a small spoon and leave the glasses to cool briefly. Then clink glasses and enjoy.
By the way, we are always happy to receive photos of the fire ritual - just share them on our Instagram or Facebook page!
]]>Simple, quick and scary
With a bit of creativity, many party snacks can be transformed into creepy Halloween treats. How about mini pizzas, decorated with spiders made from black olives? Or puff pastry in the shape of small pumpkins? All you need is the right cookie cutter. Also, muffins with a witch's hat made of marzipan or pudding with eyes are a hit.

Nevertheless, our absolute favorite are the creepy mummy sausages. All you need is puff pastry, sausages, and a little bit of mayonnaise. It's super easy and quick, give it a try!
Ingredients:
sausages
puff pastry
mayonnaise for the eyes
Preparation:
Take the puff pastry out of the fridge about 10 minutes before you start so that it is easier to work with. Cut the sausages into pieces of about 8-10 cm. Roll out the pastry and cut it into 1 cm thin strips. Wrap the strips around the sausages, leaving a few spots for the sausages to show through - this makes the mummies even scarier.
Preheat the oven to 160°C (fan oven). Place the mummy sausages on a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Let the mummies cool and then add the eyes with the mayonnaise. The fun creepy snacks are ready!
Tip: You can also make this recipe vegetarian by using veggie sausages.
Highlight of your scary party
Don't forget to offer a variety of drinks as well. Non-alcoholic drinks like lemonade or iced tea should always be there. When it comes to alcoholic drinks, you know your guests best. However, a special highlight could be the Devil's Herbs Fire Liqueur. This heavenly good but hellishly burning liqueur has a pleasantly sweet taste with a slightly tart herbal aroma. Your guests will be thrilled by this Tyrolean fire ritual!

Simply fill fireproof shot glasses to the brim with Devil's Herb Fire Liqueur and light them with a match. Blow out the flame, stir the liqueur with a small spoon and leave the glasses to cool briefly. Tastes fantastic and makes a great party highlight - cheers!

]]>four ripe bananas
one lemon
two oranges
four tablespoons sugar
a pinch of cinnamon
4 cl Glacier Ice Liqueur
For the hot bananas, start with the citrus fruits. Grate the zest from the lemon and one orange. Now squeeze the juice from both oranges and the lemon. Peel the bananas carefully so that they stay whole. Carefully cut them lengthwise.
Take a pan and put the sugar in it. Let it slowly caramelise on a not too high flame. Be careful to stir constantly so that the sugar does not burn. Now add the bananas to the sugar in the pan. After a few seconds, extinguish with the orange and lemon juice.
Finally, add the lemon and orange zest and the cinnamon. Let the dessert simmer for a few minutes on a low flame. Carefully turn the bananas once. Now the glacier ice cream comes into play. Slowly pour the liqueur over the hot bananas and use a long match to flambé the dessert. Serve immediately, or better still, do a kind of show cooking and let your guests watch and then enjoy directly.
Another tip: the whole thing works with any other fire liqueur too. Simply choose your favourite liqueur and get started.
